Communication Is Key
Communication with parents is something the staff feels strongly about. Morning drop off or pick up is a time to share a few words with the teacher in order to keep us informed of your child's needs. Regular parent/teacher conferences are held throughout the school year and may be arranged at anytime. A Parent Handbook, school calendar, newsletters, flyers, posters and by email are other ways for us to keep in touch.
An informative parent orientation is held prior to the start of school. Important information about school policy and classroom schedules is shared at that time. The following Monday and Tuesday are mornings for children to share an hour at school with their parent and teacher to say hello, play a bit and see where their cubbies and bathrooms are located.
We strongly encourage parents to be a part of their child's experience at St. George's Preschool. Special events such as the Parent Social, Fall Family Dinner, Christmas Chapel, Family Play Day and Dragon Faire are a few of the scheduled activities to help families to get acquainted with one another and the preschool environment. All parents are required to work a two hour shift the day of the Faire.
Another way to get involved is to join the Parent Board. If you are interested, please contact the office and leave a note for our current Parent Board President.
